It wasn't to be for our Sydney 2nd, who went down against Parramatta Second Grade after a hard-fought contest.
The side batted first and reached 5/247 from 50 overs. Daniel Mullen posted a fine hundred, making 119 off 138 balls. Matthew Sidhu passed fifty on the way to 80 off 85 balls with seven fours.
Parramatta Second Grade knocked off the runs, finishing on 8/248 in 49.5 overs. Our opponents' best was a half-century from Jay Noorbergen, who made 78. Ethan Mear grabbed two for 32.
So close, and plenty of positives to take away. We will be looking to get back in the winning column soon.
Credit to the hosts, and well played.
